Field of Glory: Digital Version RELEASED!
Slitherine Strategies (the software guys behind the Deadliest Warrior TV show, the Legion, Commander and Great Battles strategy wargames) have released the digital version of their tabletop and miniatures ancient warfare game Fields of Glory. Its a close approximation to the tried and tested rules for the original “book and figures” tabletop wargame, and taking the form of a turn based conflict played out on scenarios crafted around several Ancient Battles. The game includes a scenario editor for the community to craft their own Ancient conflicts, along with a multiplayer mode that supports matchmaking and various modes of play, such as immediate, or a PBEM (play by email style).
The game not only brings a very close approximation of the FOG rules to the PC for single player scenarios, it attempts to bring the look and feel of the tabletop miniatures to the arena, which is something many PC wargames shy away from, often favouring more abstract NATO symbols or more realistic 3d animated units.

The game is only available as a digital download at the moment from Slitherines store, and will set you back around 20 British Pounds Sterling.
